Robert S. Weinberg, Kyoshi/Chief Instructor
Eighth Degree Black Belt, Shorin-ryu Karate
Robert Weinberg, born in New York City in 1950, began his study of martial arts
in 1959 with the American Buddhist Academy in New York as a student of judo instructor Rev. R. Nishi. He has studied Judo, Kendo and Jujustsu with teachers in New York and Connecticut before turning to Shorin-ryu Karate with Robert J. Infererer in Middletown Connecticut while at student at Wesleyan University.

After competing his BA, Mr. Weinberg travelled to Okinawa to study with
Grandmaster Shimabukuro. He lived with the Grandmaster through 1972 and
1973 and returned to open his first school in New York City in 1974.

Mr. Weinberg was certified as a senior instructor in 1973 by the Grandmaster.
He was promoted to Hachidan (Eighth Degree Black Belt) in 2004. He also
holds a Godan (Fifth Degree Black Belt) in Okinawan Kobudo.

Mr. Weinberg is a Senior Criminal Investigator with the New York City
Business Integrity Commission.

Felix Sanes, Renshi (Assistant Instructor)
Sixth Degree Black Belt
Felix Sanes, born 1939, has studied Judo, Jujutsu and Karate since 1971.
He joined Robert Weinberg's New York dojo in 1981 and obtained his
Sixth Degree and Renshi certification in 2004.

Mr. Sanes has travelled to Okinawa three times for special training with
Grandmaster Shimabukuro and also completed the New York
City Special Training session in 2001. He has many years experience as an
assistant in Karate and Jujutsu instruction.

Mr. Sanes has been employed by St. Lukes Hospital in New York for 34 years.

Gary S. Moriwaki, Esq.
Fifth Degree Black Belt (Godan)
Gary S. Moriwaki (born 1948) began his martial arts training in the 1960's studying Judo
at the American Buddhist Academy in New York City. He came to Mr. Weinberg's dojo
in 1981 and has been a student of Shorin-ryu Karate since. Mr. Moriwaki completed Special Training sessions with the Grandmaster in 1999 in Okinawa and in New York in 2001.

Mr. Moriwaki is an attorney and a founding partner in the law firm of Young Moriwaki
Isaacs and Greenfader LLP in New York. He is also a Director of the Japanese American Association of New York, a Board member of the Asian American Federation of New York,
and a member of the Development Advisory Board of the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games.
